I was responsible for six algorithm competition tasks, and achieved a perfect score in the algorithm competition section. I independently conducted the research and development of these six algorithms from 24 July 2008 to 29 June 2009. All of these algorithms were designed for real-time video analysis.
- Forbidden Area: When an object enters a user-defined area, the algorithm detects it and triggers an alert with a recorded video clip of the event.
- Forbidden Line: Users can freely define alert lines on the surveillance screen. Once an object crosses an alert line, the algorithm detects it and outputs a warning message with a recorded video clip of the event.
- People / Car Counting: The algorithm detects people and vehicles and counts their numbers on the road. In addition, it records movement directions and stores all related event information.
- Unattended Object: In a surveillance video system, when an object remains in a fixed position for longer than a user-defined period, the algorithm marks the object, including its size and position.
- Car Color Detection: To search for suspicious vehicles in surveillance video, the algorithm uses vehicle color features to reduce search time. It can detect user-defined colors and records vehicle information, including appearance time, color information, and snapshots.
- Car Direction: Users can define the object tracking direction to be detected. When an object's direction matches the user-defined direction, the algorithm marks the object and records the corresponding directional information.
- Developed a vehicle license plate localization function for the Hualien County Police Department in Taiwan, enabling faster vehicle searches in surveillance video and significantly reducing search time.
- Developed fourteen intelligent video surveillance algorithm prototypes within five months, including Missing Object Detection, Motion Detection, and Flame Detection.
